Henry Ford Museum XR7-G

XR7-G in the Henry Ford Museum
 By Jon Manning

This Polar White XR7-G is on display at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, Michigan.  I first saw this car in 1990 at a car show in Detroit.  The next time I had seen this car was in the Detroit News paper on November 17th, 2002.  They did a pretty good size piece on Heinz Prechter, the founder of American Sunroof Corp.  Per Royce Peterson, the car originally belonged to Ken Well's who traded it to Heinz for a brand new 1988 McLaren ASC Mustang convertible.  Heinz passed away a few years back and his wife Waltraud (Wally) donated the car to the museum.  It is polar white with a black vinyl top, sunroof, air, and 390 automatic.  It has taken several times to find a way to get a good picture of this special car, but the museum mission was accomplished!
